The Ministry of Failure
Posted on Nov 20, 2009 at 9:38 pm under Sermon Overview.
I read a book recently entitled Dont Blink in a Hailstorm. It was a great leadership read. I was then prompted to revisit a book by John Maxwell entitled Failing Forward. I got to be honest, I was greatly challenged.
Over the past several weeks I have shared what has turned into a series on Ministry: The Ministry of Encouragement, The Ministry of Interruptions, and The Ministry of Empowerment. This coming Sunday I will be preaching on the subject of The Ministry of Failure. If you have ever blown it and feel deep regret but just can’t shake it, you need to be here at one of our three weekend services. 9 a.m./10:20 a.m./11:44 a.m. If your schedule doesn’t allow for Sunday morning worship please check out our Valley High School campus called LifeSong. James Gribbons is the lead pastor and is doing a great job. He actually preached for me this past Sunday. You can find his video message on our website.
Unless the Lord changes my mind I am planning on preaching a message inspired by the preaching ministry of Pastor Craig Groeshel on Sunday morning November 29th entitled “Are U a Practical Atheist?” Much of my material will come from a four-part series he preached at his pastorate but I will also have some “fresh bread” as well. I will also be using Bruce Sheilman’s five star text An Atheist Defends Religion: Why Humanity is Better Off with Religion Than Without It . You will not want to miss this message.
It is hard to believe 2009 is wrapping up but it is. Let’s finish the year strong and continue to make the enemy mad. Blessings to you and I hope to see you SUNDAY!!!!!! PJ
