Valley View's Children's Ministry seeks to provide a secure and loving church environment that will nurture the healthy growth and development of children in every aspect of their lives - spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social - and support parents in their God-given responsibility to train and nurture their children in God's Word and God's plan for them.
Ultimately, Valley View's Children's Ministry wants to provide the foundation and opportunity that would enable every boy and girl to come to a personal, saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and to encourage each child to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
We strongly encourage parents and elementary children to attend Worship and Life Groups on the same schedule. For example, when a parent goes to worship their third grade and kindergarten children would go with them. During worship when children dismiss to Kids Praise Too, their kindergarten child would go to the chapel and their third grade child would stay in the service with them. When the parent is in their Life Group, both children go to their age graded Life Group.
At Valley View, we believe it is important for families to worship together. While we offer families the choice of when they worship, we want to keep in the forefront the importance of children learning to worship by watching their parents worship.
Preschool classes are available during either worship service or Life Group schedules.
Children ages three through 5th Grade may join these age graded clubs. Weekly activities include opening ceremony, council time, handbook time and game time. Awards are earned for participation, scripture memory and completing projects.
Age-graded Bible learning classes are provided for children from birth through 5th Grade. These classes are located in the first and second floors of the children's building. These classes are staffed by volunteers who have completed background checks. Preschool classes are during both worship and Life Group sessions, and numbered tags are given to all preschoolers upon arrival for parent communication and security.
Children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade attend the worship service with their parents and are dismissed after the praise and worship time to a children's worship time that meets in the Chapel. Learning activities are provided appropriate to their understanding and participation. Teams of volunteer leaders serve on a monthly basis.
Graded choirs are provided for children from Prek-K through 5th grade. Choirs meet September through May. Each choir performs in December and May.
