Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area (OCORA) will monitor all entrances to Camp Piomingo. As part of your registration packet you will receive a CAR PASS FOR BOTH MONDAY AND FRIDAY. Any vehicle without a car pass will pay an entrance fee to get into OCORA. The confirmation letter you will receive will have specific details on entrance and exit. Camp access is not permitted during the week unless special circumstances make it necessary. You must prearrange with Mrs. Eddie Lee to be admitted to camp. In case of an emergency, campers can receive messages by calling 1-800-411-5822.
Camp Piomingo is located in Otter Creek Park, about 30 miles southwest of Louisville, near Fort Knox.
The cost of Kiddo Camp is $185 per child. This includes lodging, meals, snacks, crafts, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, high ropes, archery, all other activities, T-shirt, and awards. Everything your child should need is included in the fee. Extra money at camp is not needed and should not be brought to camp.
Kiddo Camp is part of the Children's Ministry of Valley View Church. Eddie Lee Brooks, our Children's Minister, serves as Camp Director. DeWayne Drake, our Activities Minister, serves on our Kiddo Camp team. Joe Gunter, our Middle School Minister, also serves at Kiddo Camp, building relationships with upcoming 6th graders. Other church staff serve as well. The camp is staffed by committed, Christian adults and college and high school students. Background checks are required for each camp staff member.
The purpose of Kiddo Camp is to strengthen a child's relationship and understanding of God, peers and himself and to enjoy a wholesome camp experience. We provide each child the opportunity to explore and enjoy life in a "camp environment" participating in activities, cabin life, Bible study and meaningful worship on a daily basis.
Register and pay using the link below. A minimum deposit of $50 (or confirmed scholarship/extended payment plan) is required for your child to be assigned to a cabin. Full payment is due no later than July 19. If you need financial assistance, scholarship funds may be available. Please select the scholarship/ payment extension option during the registration process and briefly explain your situation. Partial payment is expected so that we will be able to assist as many children as possible.
You are responsible for your child's transportation both to and from camp.
Campers will need to arrive at Camp Piomingo at 10:00AM on Monday. You will receive a parent pass allowing you to enter Otter Creek Park to drop off your child.
Parents are invited to a Camp Closing program at 5:00PM on Friday. We will share highlights of our week and present awards to the campers. Following the program, parents and campers will gather all items and head for home. You will receive a parent pass allowing you to enter Otter Creek Park to pick up your child.
Any other public access to camp will be emergency only.
